MEET THE TEAM

AMANDA AKINS
OWNER + LEAD DESIGNER
Amanda's journey into leatherwork began after moving from a small farming community in South Dakota to Oklahoma. With a natural eye for painting and design, she was introduced to leatherwork be her father-in-law. Her first project was a Bible cover, followed soon after by a pair of bull riding chaps for her husband, James.
What started as curiosity quickly became a passion and eventually Hurricane Dixie Leather. Today, Amanda leads the design and creative direction behind HDL, creating intricate custom and heirloom pieces while developing collections for retailers across the country.
Outside the shop, Amanda enjoys spending time with her husband, gardening, serving at her local church, and usually having another creative project or craft in the works.

Allison Alley
Designer + PRODUCTION ASSISTANT
Alli is one of the hands behind Hurricane Dixie Leather, creating custom pieces and helping keep our Pawnee storefront stocked with handmade goods. With an eye for detail and growing skill set in leatherwork, she has become an important part of HDL's day-to-day production.
As Hurricane Dixie Leather expands into wholesale, Alli is also taking on a larger role in production, helping create our handcrafted belt collections for retailers across the country.
Outside the shop, Alli enjoys cooking, volunteering at her church, spending time with her husband and son, and embracing country life with their ever-growing crew of animals.
MADE HERE. BY US.
We believe where something is made-and who makes it-still matters. Every Hurricane Dixie Leather piece is made by our team in Pawnee, Oklahoma, with focus on quality materials, thoughtful design, and craftsmanship that lasts.
Whether we're creating a one-of-a-kind heirloom or producing a full run for one of our retail partners, every piece receives the same attention to detail from start to finish.
